  • Bigugu Trail: This challenging 6.7-kilometer trail requires about 6 hours to complete. It leads you to the highest point in Nyungwe forest, where you’ll encounter beautiful wildflowers, including red-hot pokers, orchids, and giant lobelias.
  • Kamiranzovu Marsh Trail: Explore the Kamiranzovu wetland, once frequented by forest elephants. Look out for special bird species like Grauer’s rush warbler and Albertine owlet.
  • Karamba Birding Trail: This easy 4.5-kilometer trail takes around 3 hours to walk and is a paradise for birdwatchers.
  • Gisakura Tea Estate: Discover a relict forest patch within the Gisakura Tea Estate. Encounter the majestic Rwenzori colobus monkeys, with plenty of opportunities for stunning photography. The Best Time to Visit Nyungwe National Park
